Pentecost: Divine Liturgy and the Kneeling Prayers of St. Basil the Great

This Sunday is Pentecost. Divine Liturgy in the morning, with the church in green. The Vespers of Pentecost will be served following Liturgy, including the Kneeling Prayers of St. Basil the Great: three long prayers during which the congregation kneels together for the first time since Pascha. As Father Solomon noted, it is the first time in nearly two months that Orthodox Christians kneel in prayer. Plan to stay for Vespers.
