World Premiere of Benedict Sheehan's Akathist Oratorio in New York City

This weekend in New York City, the world premiere of "Akathist," a new oratorio by Orthodox composer Benedict Sheehan, will be performed. This is a significant new work: a full oratorio setting of one of the most beloved hymns in Orthodox liturgical tradition, composed by one of the leading voices in Orthodox sacred music today. Tickets are available and we strongly encourage interested parishioners to attend. World premieres of serious Orthodox sacred music do not happen often. This is one of them.
