Name Day Celebration During Divine Liturgy

The parish sang "Many Years" (Polychronion) for a child's name day on July 30th during or after Divine Liturgy. In Orthodox practice, name days honor the saint whose name a person bears, and marking them in the context of the Liturgy connects the celebration directly to the Church's prayer rather than keeping it as a private family occasion.
