Nicolae Rus

Parish Council President

Bogdan Nicolae Georgian Rus was elected President of the Parish Council of Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in 2026, after four years of service on the Council.

Bogdan was born and raised in Romania, the son of a priest, and his earliest memories are of the altar. His father, Fr. Virgil Rus, first served a rural village, where Bogdan spent nearly every Sunday standing beside him.

He studied at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology of Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, earning his bachelor's degree in Orthodox Pastoral Theology in 2016 with a thesis “Prayer in the Pentateuch”, and completing a one-year master's degree in Pastoral Counseling and Psycho-Social Assistance.

He moved to the United States in 2017 where he met his wife Kelly, then moved to Jersey City in 2019. Within a couple of months, they started attending Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Cathedral which has become their parish and family ever since.

Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Cathedral has been the center of their family life for over 7 years.

A great believer in the Christian idea of hospitality, Nicolae makes it a point to facilitate the parish men's fellowship outside the church, fostering a brotherhood of fathers and men who meet monthly to share their faith and one another's burdens.

Nicolae is also licensed real estate agent serving buyers, sellers, tenants, landlords, and investors across New Jersey, where he has built a practice grounded in service, trust, and long relationships.

He and his wife Kelly live in Jersey City with their two daughters.
